MBRC Community Baby Shower

A COMMUNITY BABY SHOWER was sponsored by Missouri Bootheel Regional Consortium at Hayti Community Center on March 12th.  This educational event offered free strollers, gift baskets, fun baby shower games, refreshments, speakers, etc.

Traditionally, a baby shower celebrates beginning “motherhood.” The purpose of MBRC’s community baby shower was to bring together mothers, babies, and fathers to learn about MBRC’s programs, to support recruitment for the Healthy Start Program, and to meet the MBRC family! This exciting event was also an opportunity for many families to ask questions regarding the work and services provided by MBRC.

MBRC is well recognized in the community as a health referral and support system performed by our case managers and health educators. Although many of our programs are targeted toward women and babies, our programs strongly emphasize the importance of male involvement. It was joyful to see so many fathers who attended this baby shower with their babies! The goal of our Healthy Start program is to give every baby a healthy start.

MBRC’s staff presented an overview of all of the organization’s programs and upcoming events and activities sponsored by MBRC. MBRC’s staff enjoyed the company of many babies and families.
